    Vice President and General Manager Corporate Marketing – www.mediatek.comSiegmund Redl is a graduate of Munich's University of Technology and has spent over 20 years in the Mobile Communications Industry. He started his career with Schlumberger Technologies in 1990, where he also served as ETSI GSM Standards delegate; he then worked with and led LSI LOGIC's Wireless Communication Business Unit. Since 1999 Redl spearheaded Qualcomm's chip business for its CDMA Technologies division in Europe and served as the company's Country Manager, Germany, where he was also responsible for developing and strengthening the company's business partnerships in Austria, Switzerland and the Nordic Region. Since late 2010 Redl then represented Altair Semiconductor, a LTE Fabless Chip Startup Company of Israel, as General Manager in Europe. In February 2013 Siegmund Redl was appointed Vice President and General Manager of the newly established MediaTek Corporate Marketing Organization. Siegmund Redl is the co-author of three textbooks on GSM and digital cellular technology.

He is also Vice President of the Royal Institution of Great Britain, and Professor of Computer Science at the University of Edinburgh. He is a Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and a Fellow of Darwin College Cambridge. His research interests include machine learning and its applications.

    Bill McFarland

    www.atheros.comWilliam J. McFarland is currently Vice President of Technology at Qualcomm Atheros, a wholly owned subsidiary of Qualcomm. In this role, he leads new initiatives across Qualcomm Atheros' product line, including WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, NFC, Ethernet, Power Line Communications, and Passive Optical Networking (PON). Bill also guides standards, regulatory, and technology roadmap planning. Bill joined Atheros in 1999 and became the CTO in 2004. Prior to joining Atheros, Bill spent 14 years at the Hewlett Packard Research Lab working on mixed signal ICs. Bill has published over 30 papers, and holds over 60 patents. Bill holds a BSEE from Stanford University, and a MSEE from the University of California, Berkeley.
